The state of Nevada has approved a new Texas hold’em game called Royal hold’em. This version has been around for awhile, but this will be the first introduction to the Las Vegas casinos. While all the rules of traditional Texas hold’em apply, this new variation is quite different. It is much faster paced and much more exciting. In traditional Texas hold’em you play with a full deck of cards and it is a lot like draw poker except you bet four times instead of once. This gives the players the opportunity to have a much more strategic approach with both the game and their betting.

Royal hold’em is played with a deck of 20 cards with only tens, jacks, queens, kings and aces. With this stripped down deck it is more likely that players will get certain hands. Royal hold’em is a limit game, which means that all bets do have a limit that is set prior to the start of the game. Due to the stripped down 20 card deck, Royal hold’em can only have a maximum of six players per game.
Royal hold’em is being marketed in Las Vegas by NewPoker, LLC, a local gaming company. It is their hope to gives players a more action packed alternative to traditional Texas hold’em.
While there is a large variety of hold’em games available in Las Vegas, Royal is sure to be a fan favorite. With the fast pace that the stripped deck offers, gamers from all around are sure to try their hand at the newest version.
There are many games in Vegas but Texas hold’em and its different varieties have had an explosion in the last 20 years. Royal hold’em is sure to keep up with its predecessors. Whether you are a first time gambler or a seasoned professional, Royal hold’em is sure to get your blood pumping.
