Consistency is Not Always Good

Poker Tips

When you are playing a poker game you should not always follow a strict betting plan. Odds and corresponding bets are a good strategy when you are playing online. However, this kind of system has a flaw. You are playing against people - not a computer. Doing the same things consistently makes your playing strategy predictable. Your opponent can then take advantage of your very systematic way of playing. Your opponents can determine if you have a good hand or not. When they know what you have in your hand they would definitely know what measures to take.

Your opponents will know the exact time to fold and when to call. In the end, your structured betting system would be your downfall. Poker is not just playing odds like other games, it requires bluffing and high risk moves. This is what makes this game unpredictable. It has the human element. Having the human factor certainly changes things. Your betting pattern cannot be that consistent and when you are consistent your opponent knows you are playing by the book. They will realize when you do this, and crush you.

Take a risk, this is why they call it gambling…remember?

To be a good poker player you must be able to read people. Your opponents behavior is something you should constantly be monitoring. Try changing your pace and bet differently. When your behavior changes your opponent has no idea what you have, leaving you with the upper hand.
