Poker Tips

The World Series of Poker puts a lot of pressure on the players – especially for first timers. New players are just dazzled on being a contestant of the game itself. New comers are easily star struck when they see their favorite poker players. Seeing all of the legends play poker can not only intimidate you, but distract your focus. Players do not realize that they are there to win it and not for sight-seeing. Wake up; the WSOP is not a vacation. You should focus on your objective so that you can plan the necessary strategy to use before the game starts.

Playing against experienced well known players puts a lot of pressure on new comers. They can be easily intimidated. They think highly of their opponents and doubt their own capabilities. The common mistake of new poker players is they want to start conservative when they are facing well known poker players. Their mentality is not to win but to survive. That way of thinking is for losers. You should really start to have confidence on your own abilities. Trying to survive in a poker game and playing it to win is two different things. When your mentality is to survive you end up not taking any risks and that is very important in poker. A player who does not take risks will go nowhere, and watch their chip stack get smaller and smaller. It is nice to be conservative sometimes but too much of it is also fatal in the game of poker. It is not like online poker where you can hide hesitating. Your are playing your opponent face to face and they can certainly smell the fear in you. Play confident, switch things up, and GAMBLE.
