One day before the PokerStars EPT Season Five Grand Final Main Event, on April 27, 2009, a slew of poker stars will come out in droves to support this great cause, including members of Team PokerStars itself, like Joe Hachem, Vanessa Rousso, and Daniel Negreanu. The No Limit Texas Holdem event has a €4,000 buy-in and the winner of the event will receive a free seat in the PokerStars EPT Bahamas Event in January 2010.

Ante Up for Africa, the organization running the event, has held two similar charity poker tournaments in the past, both as part of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

The World Blogger Championship of Online Poker is open to all poker playing bloggers. To enter, you must have your own blog, whether poker related or otherwise. Beyond that prerequisite, entry into the 20008 WBCOOP is free. Interested players must register their blog PokerStars.com to get started.

The top finisher in the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker is the $14,300 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Plus, the event pomises cash and prizes worth over $100,000 to the top 100 placers, with prize packages including:
• Various $7,500 packages to European Poker Tour events
• the inaugural Spring Championship of Online Poker (coming up in early 2009)

Freeroll qualifiers in various Pot Limit, Limit and No Limit versions of Texas Holdem and Omaha run from December 15 to December 20.

Last year’s WBCOOP attracted some 1,300 competitors. This year’s event promises to top that turnout.
