Sure, about a third of the tournament’s 33 events have already taken place (we’ll hold off printing any results until after the entire event is completed), but that leaves 2/3 more of the prize pool left unclaimed.

PokerStars is currently the world’s biggest poker site, and the WCOOP is its biggest annual event, with $30,000,000 in guaranteed prizes. The event includes tournaments in virtually every poker game under the sun:

• 7-Card Stud
• Razz
• HORSE
• 5-Card Draw
• 2-7 Draw
• Triple Draw
• and of course Texas Holdem

There are hi/lo events and limit, pot limit, and no limit tournaments running in most categories. Players can enter in one of two ways:

1. Pay the buy-in directly
2. Play a satellite tournament a win a seat into a given event

The 2008 WCOOP runs until Sept 21-22 when players sit in at the main event for a shot at their share of the $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.

While this may be his greatest online poker triumph to date, this is not the first big win for the 24-year-old, as “yuvee04” was the winner of last year’s FTOPS #6 – Stud Eight or Better. He had also made that year’s final table in HORSE.
